| Born in postwar Europe of military parents, Mr. Fulsang has lived in a variety of locations around the world, including Europe, South America, and the Far East. He spent three years as an army helicopter pilot before entering the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, graduating in 1974 with a commission in the infantry. After leaving the army as a captain in 1979, he spent the next twenty years in industry in marketing, teaching, and public speaking roles, eventually focusing on software development where he specialized in artificially intelligent decision aids and autonomous battlefield robots. He now lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife, Julie, and two stepchildren, Natalie and Stephen. His short story, The Key to His Heart, won first prize in the 2004 Jack London Awards sponsored by the California Writer’s Club. |
